Hoosiers Ready To Host Fourth Home Meet Of The Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Returning to home turf, Indiana Track & Field is set to host the Big Ten Indiana Invite No. 4/Billy Hayes Invite this weekend. The meet is set to begin on Friday, April 30 and will wrap up on Saturday, May 1. Friday's portion of the meet is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. while Saturday will kick off at 1 p.m.

Friday Women's Track Events – 5000m
Friday Men's Track Events – 3000m steeplechase and 5000m
Saturday Women's Track Events – 4x100m relay, 100m hurdles (prelims), 400m, 100m hurdles (finals) 400m hurdles, 800m, 200m, 1500m, and 4x400m relay
Saturday Women's Field Events – Hammer throw, long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, and discus
Saturday Men's Track Events – 4x100m relay, 110m hurdles (prelims), 100m (prelims), 400m, 110m hurdle (finals), 100m (finals), 400m hurdles, 800m, 200m, 1500m, and 4x400m relay
Saturday Men's Field Events – Hammer throw, long jump, pole vault, high jump, shot put, and discus
Last Time Out: Big Ten Relays
Indiana saw a total of six event wins this past weekend at the Fighting Illini Big Ten Relays. Rikkoi Brathwaite took home gold in the 100m with a time of 10.65 while Shaton Vaughn won the 400m hurdles for the second time this season in a time of 51.61. On relay day, the Hoosiers won four relays by sweeping the 4x800m relay and 4x1600m relay.
Also at the relays, two Hoosiers set personal best in their respective events. Austin Haskett raced a time of 9:10.86 in the steeplechase to garner silver. Christian Goines competed in the 110m hurdles and clocked a time of 14.75 where he came in third in his heat.
Setting the Record Straight
Two Hoosiers have broken program records so far this outdoor season. Bailey Hertenstein set the school record in the 5000m on April 16 with her time of 15:38.01. Khayla Dawson heaved a distance of 17.93m (58' 10") on the same day to improve on the record she already holds in the shot put.
