
Hoosiers Battle to a 0-0 Draw Against In-State Rival Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Indiana women's soccer played 110 minutes to a 0-0 draw on Saturday night as it battled in-state rival Purdue at Folk Field.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana (6-4-1) looked to strike first in the fourth minute as freshman Anna Bennett launched it right inside of the 18-yard box, but it went out wide.
•Purdue (4-5-2) fired off three shots that all went wide. However, in the 40th minute Sarah Griffith would give senior goalkeeper Bethany Kopel her first save.
•In the 42nd minute, sophomore Avery Lockwood took an on target shot at the top of the penalty arc as she looked to give the Hoosiers the lead at the half, but the Boilermaker's keeper was there for the save.
• Out of the locker room, the Boilermakers maintained control of the ball. They were able to get a couple of shots but failed to capitalize. In the 67th minute a Griffith launched a dangerous shot, but Kopel punched the ball to the back of the net for the save.
• In the first overtime period, the Hoosiers failed to get a shot off, but Kopel would pick up three more saves to keep the match scoreless.
• Senior Melanie Forbes saw a great opportunity in the 105th minute, but the ball went out left. Senior Hanna Németh had the best chance with just under a minute left in double-overtime, but Purdue's keeper would pounce on the ball to keep the game scoreless.

• The Hoosiers have played Purdue to a draw in three of the last five matches.
• Senior goalkeeper Bethany Kopel recorded a new season high of eight saves against Purdue.
• Sophomore Bria Telemaque and freshman Gabi Rennie earned their third start of the season.
