
Gabbi Jenkins Breaks Career Steals Record, Hoosiers Split with Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Gabbi Jenkins added three stolen bases to break the Indiana softball program record for career stolen bases on Friday. Jenkins and Grace Lorsung hit home runs for the Hoosiers, who won game one 4-1, but had their seventh inning rally come up short in a 4-3 loss to Purdue.
Game One: Indiana 4, Purdue 1
KEY MOMENTS
• In the top of the fourth inning Macy Montgomery got an infield hit and stole second base. Annika Baez followed with an RBI single to shallow right field to put the Hoosiers up 1-0.
• In the bottom of the fourth inning Purdue had runners on first and second with one out. Emily Goodin pitched back-to-back strikeouts to end the threat.
• In the bottom half of the fifth inning Purdue's leadoff hitter doubled, but again Goodin got a strikeout and two ground outs to protect the Indiana lead.
• Grayson Radcliffe homered in the sixth inning and Grace Lorsung added 2 RBI for a three-run inning to increase the Indiana lead to 4-0.

• Emily Goodin pitched her second straight complete game as she went all seven innings.
• Goodin tallied eight strikeouts in the first game against Purdue.
• Indiana collected eight hits in the opening game of the series.

• Purdue scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning with a leadoff triple and three doubles.
• In the top of the seventh inning Grace Lorsung led off and hit a home run to bring the Hoosiers to within three at 4-1.
• With two outs the Hoosiers managed to get within one run at 4-3. Taylor Lamert hit a single, followed by a Gabbi Jenkins double and Grayson Radcliffe triple.

• Gabbi Jenkins broke the Indiana program record for career steals and now has 91. The previous record was set by Aimee Lonigro in 1997.
