Goodin and Norton Earn Big Ten Weekly Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After a weekend in which the Hoosiers went 4-0 and climbed into fourth place in the Big Ten standings, Emily Goodin and Bella Norton earned Big Ten honors, the conference announced today. Goodin is the Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week and Norton is the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week.
Goodin shutdown the Penn State bats, going 3-0 on the weekend with two complete games and a shutout. Goodin posted an era of 0.47 with one earned run in 19 innings pitched. Goodin struck out 18 batters and allowed only one extra base hit. Goodin leads the Big Ten in innings pitched at 178.1 and ranks third in strikeouts with 158 for the season.
Norton hit a blistering .583 on the weekend for the Hoosiers. Norton collected seven hits, four runs and six RBI for the series. In the series finale, Norton hit her fourth home run of the season and tallied two hits, three RBI and one walk. She recorded a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .615 on base percentage in 12 plate appearances.
The Hoosiers, who have won 15 of their last 20 games, travel to Maryland this weekend for their last series of the regular season.
