Indiana Water Polo Announces 2021 Season Awards

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University head water polo coach Taylor Dodson announced the team's 2021 season award winners on Wednesday.
Hard Hat – Lanna DeBow and Zoe Crouch
Debow had a terrific season for the Hoosiers, totaling 33 goals, 20 assists and 27 steals. She also notched a team-best 10 field blocks on the season.
Crouch led the team in points in 2021 with 84, recording 39 goals and a team-high 45 assists. She also had 25 steals and three assists on the campaign. Crouch's 45 assists are tied for 10th-best all-time on the program's single-season assist list.
Offensive Player – Izzy Mandema
Mandema was an offensive force for the Hoosiers this past season, leading the team with 62 goals, which ranked third in the nation and led the MPSF. She also added four assists, 20 steals and tied for the team lead with 10 field blocks.
Defensive Player – Mary Askew
Askew was tremendous in goal for Indiana in 2021, starting 25 games. She made 208 saves on the season to go with 44 steals and six assists. Askew also contributed on the offensive end, scoring eight goals.
Most Improved – Kiki Mein
Mein was a large part of IU's success this past year, contributing immediately as a freshman. She totaled nine goals, 21 assists, six steals and two field blocks in 27 games for the Hoosiers.
