Bezerra Claims Spot on First Team
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana sophomores Victor Bezerra and Roman Celentano and redshirt senior Spencer Glass earned United Soccer Coaches' All-America accolades, the organization announced Thursday.
Bezerra, recently honored as a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist, was named to the first team. Celentano was tabbed a second-team selection, while Glass earned a spot on the third team.
A total of 23 programs are represented on the list of 34 All-America selections. Indiana is one of nine teams to have multiple selections. Only the Hoosiers and the Georgetown Hoyas have three players selected to a team.
The three Hoosier selections mark the most in a single season since Griffin Dorsey, Andrew Gutman and Trey Muse all claimed All-America honors in 2018. IU also had three-plus selections in 1977, '94, '97, '98, '99, 2002, '04 and '05.
Indiana has placed at least one player on an All-America team in seven-straight seasons and 10 of the last 11 seasons. The Hoosiers have now had 48 players earn 75 All-America plaudits.
VICTOR BEZERRA
All-America First Team
Bezerra, the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, has also been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Tournament, All-Big Ten first team selection, All-North Region first team honoree and a MAC Hermann finalist this postseason.
He has tallied 12 goals this season, the most by a Hoosier since Eriq Zavaleta netted 18 scores in 2012. Since 2006, only two Hoosiers have scored more goals than Bezerra in a single season: Will Bruin (18 in 2010) and Zavaleta (18 in 2012).
The Chicago native scored five goals in the three Big Ten Tournament matches, the most ever by a Hoosier in a single B1G tournament run. Bezerra currently leads all Big Ten players in shots (45), shots on goal (24), goals (12), game-winning goals (4), and total points (28). Nationally, he ranks fourth in goals per game (0.91), tied for third in game-winning goals, and tied for sixth in points per game (2.00).
ROMAN CELENTANO
All-America Second Team
Celentano has allowed just 13 goals in 28 games started during his two-year run at Indiana, including only five conceded tallies in 14 matches this season.
He leads all Big Ten goalies in goals against average (.345), saves (50), save percentage (.909), and shutouts (8). He ranks third in saves per game at 3.57. Celentano leads the country in save percentage, ranks third in both goals against average and in shutouts across the NCAA.
The Naperville, Ill., native has also been awarded Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Tournament, a spot on both the All-North Region and All-Big Ten first teams this season.
SPENCER GLASS
All-America Third Team

He started the season on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List before leading the conference in assists (5) and assists per game (.625), while captaining the conference's most prolific defense during the regular season. The Fort Wayne native suffered a season-ending injury in IU's 1-0 victory over Michigan.
The No. 2-ranked Hoosiers will take on the No. 3-ranked Pitt Panthers at 8:30 p.m. on May 14 at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park with a spot in the national championship match on the line. The game will air on ESPNU with Dalen Cuff (PxP) and Devon Kerr (Analyst) on the call.
