Goodin Throws No-Hitter, Hoosiers Top Terrapins in Game One of Series

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Emily Goodin tossed the third no-hitter of her career and the Hoosiers (24-17) took the first game against Maryland on Friday.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers got runners on in both the first and second inning but could not capitalize.
• In the bottom of the fourth inning, Bella Norton threw out a runner going from first to second base.
• Indiana broke through in the sixth inning as Brooke Benson walked and Taylor Lambert and Gabbi Jenkins each bunted for singles to load the bases with no outs.
• After a force at home, Bella Norton singled for an RBI and Grace Lorsung drove in a run with a groundout. That gave Indiana a 2-0 lead in the game.
NOTABLES
• The Hoosiers improved to 24-17 this season.
• Emily Goodin (17-12) tossed her third career no-hitter and 28th in Indiana program history. It was also Goodin's 17th complete game of the season.
• Goodin struck out six batters in the game and now has 163 strikeouts on the season. Her 163 strikeouts rank 15th on the Hoosies all-time list for strikeouts in a season.
• Goodin moved into fifth on the Hoosiers all-time career strikeout list and now has 573 career strikeouts.
• Bella Norton extended her hitting streak to 14 games.
• Taylor Lambert tallied two hits in the game.
