
No. 21 Hoosiers Take Down Michigan in Ann Arbor, 13-8

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 21-ranked Indiana University baseball team took down Michigan on the road in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday afternoon, 13-8.
With the victory, the Hoosiers improve to 24-11 on the season overall and in Big Ten conference play. The Wolverines fall to 24-13 on the year and in league action.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana took a 4-0 in the top of the fourth inning. After a one-out triple from INF Drew Ashley, he scored one pitch later on an RBI grounder to third base off the bat of INF Paul Toetz.
• Two batters later with a runner at second base, INF Cole Barr lined a run-scoring single to center field to make the score 2-0. After a OF Morgan Colopy single, INF Kip Fougerousse blasted a two-run triple off the wall in center field to push the Hoosier advantage to 4-0.
• In the top of the seventh inning, OF Grant Richardson hit a towering, three-run home run off the scoreboard in right field. Richardson's fifth homer of the year pushed the IU lead to 7-0.
• RHP McCade Brown (5-2) recorded his fourth quality start of the year to earn the win, pitching six innings while allowing three runs. Brown allowed just three hits and struck out seven.
• Michigan clawed back in the game, scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh to close the gap to 7-5.
• The Hoosiers answered right back, however, plating six runs in the top of the eighth. Ashley, Toetz (HBP) and Richardson all had an RBI in the frame, while both Barr and Fougerousse had run-scoring singles for IU to make the lead 13-5.
• The Wolverines plated three in the bottom of the inning to cut the advantage to 13-8, but that's as far as their rally would come.
NOTABLES
• Fougerousse's four RBI on the day were a career-high, while Richardson's four RBI game was his second of the season. He also had a career-best three hits on the day.
• Barr batted 3-for-3 for the Hoosiers with two RBI and a run scored.
• Richardson finished 1-for-4 with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored, while Ashley had a pair of hits and also scored three times.
• RHP Braydon Tucker pitched a perfect ninth inning out of the bullpen.
• Ashley and Toetz both extended their respective reached-base streaks to 19 games each.
