COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Gabbi Jenkins hit her third home run of the season and the Hoosiers (25-19) finished the regular season with a 3-2 win over Maryland.
KEY MOMENTS
• Maryland had runners on first and third with one out in the second inning. The Hoosiers threw out a runner and home and an Emily Goodin strikeout got out of the inning.
• Gabbi Jenkins put the Hoosiers on the board with a home run to right field in the fourth inning. Annika Baez drove in Bella Norton, who doubled, to give Indiana a 2-0 lead.
• Maryland responded in their half of the fourth inning with an RBI single and run scored on an IU error to knot the game 2-2.
• Aaliyah Andrews threw out a runner coming home from right field to keep the game tied 2-2.
• In the sixth inning Gabbi Jenkins led off with a single and Grayton Radcliffe followed with a single of her own. Jenkins stole third and scored on an RBI single from Grace Lorsung to put Indiana on top, 3-2.
• In the Maryland half of the sixth inning Maryland had a runner on third with two out and the Hoosiers got a putout from shortstop Brooke Benson to Annika Baez at first to get out of the inning.
• Goodin got a putout, strikeout and Radcliffe a putout to first to finish the game for the Hoosiers in the bottom of the seventh.
