
Patberg Named 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas – Indiana senior guard Ali Patberg has been named a 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-American second team selection, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of American on Friday.
Patberg becomes the program's seventh overall and fifth player to earn Academic All-American honors. In addition, she is the first honoree for the Hoosiers since Amanda Cahill in 2018 who also garnered second team distinction. She is one of two players from the Big Ten to earn the award.
Seven of the 15 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women's basketball teams, including Patberg, sport a perfect 4.0 GPA in either undergrad or graduate school. Currently pursuing her master's degree in recreational administration, the Columbus, Ind. native holds a 4.0 GPA in her postgraduate studies. She graduated from IU's Kelley School of Business with a degree in finance with a 3.71 GPA in May 2020.
Patberg is a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree and first time Academic All-American. She is a three time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was a 2020-21 All-Big Ten second team honoree. Patberg averaged 14.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, a +2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio while shooting 42.3 percent from the floor and 73.5 percent from the free throw line. She scored in double figures 20 times and scored 20 points or more in five games. The senior guard became IU's 28th member of the 1,000-point club this season and currently ranks 15th all-time in scoring a third in all-time assists and was a Top 10 finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award for the second-straight season.
