
No. 25 Maryland Rallies Past Indiana, 4-3, in 10 Innings

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 25-ranked Maryland Terrapins defeated the Indiana Hoosiers, 4-3, in 10 innings at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium in College Park, Md. on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, Indiana falls to 25-17 on the season overall, while Maryland improves to 27-15 on the year.
KEY MOMENTS
• Trailing 1-0 after three innings, Indiana tied the game in the top of the fourth. With runners on the corners after a walk and OF Grant Richardson's second single of the game, OF Cole Barr plated INF Jeremy Houston with a sacrifice fly to right field.
• The Hoosiers took the lead in the top of the sixth, 3-1. With Houston on third base after he doubled and moved over on a fly out, Richardson brought him home with his third single of the day. After a hit-by-pitch and a walk loaded the bases, DH Jordan Fucci scored another with a sacrifice fly to left field.
• Pitching a day ahead of schedule, RHP Gabe Bierman was tremendous. The right-hander tossed six innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out six. The quality start was his eight of the year.
• Maryland rallied, however, scoring one run in the eighth, ninth and 10th innings to earn the win, 4-3.
NOTABLES
• Richardson batted 3-for-5 on the day with and RBI and a run scored. It was his fifth three-hit game of the season and 19th multi-hit game of the year, both team bests.
• INF Jeremy Houston extended his reached-base streak to 12 games with a walk in the top of the fourth inning. Houston finished the day 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a double.
• INF Paul Toetz hit his Big Ten-leading 17th double of the season in the seventh inning. His 17 two-baggers are a single-season school record for doubles in Big Ten games.
