BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball program and Head Coach Steve Aird announced three new additions to the team on Monday.
"We are very excited to add depth and experience to our roster in 2021," Aird said. "We addressed specific program needs and added high character and hard working players."
Defensive specialist/libero Paula Cerame (Boca Raton, Fla.), middle blocker Kaley Rammelsberg (Westerville, Ohio) and defensive specialist/libero Isa Lopez (Richardson, Texas) make up the additions to the team.
"Our staff can't wait to get the entire group together in August and continue our build," Aird said. "We will have one of the youngest teams in the country, so we felt it important to add experience and balance the roster."
Cerame, who is originally from Puerto Rico, comes from the University of Florida, where this past year she spent time in the starting libero role for the Gators, who advanced to the Elite 8 this spring.
Rammelsberg is a transfer from High Point University and was the 2019 Big South Freshman of the Year and made the 2020 All-Big South First Team.
Lopez comes to the Hoosiers from La Salle and was the Atlantic 10 Libero of the Year in 2020. She earned placement on the A10 Second Team and ranked eighth in the 2020 season in the NCAA in digs per set.
Paula Cerame, DS/L, 5-8, Boca Raton, Florida (St. Thomas Aquinas)
• Spent time in starting libero role at the University of Florida
• Registered a career-best 19 digs against South Carolina
• 2019 SEC Champion with Florida, 2021 Elite 8
• 2017 Under Armour All-American
• 2017 First Team All-State
• 2014 and 2015 USA Volleyball A1 Select National Team
• Started at libero for the No. 1 ranked team in Puerto Rico in 2014
Coach Aird: "Paula has experience and has proven she can play the game at the highest level. I am excited to see how quickly she can learn our system and contribute. She is a high energy and passionate young athlete that our fan base will enjoy watching compete."
Kaley Rammelsberg, MB, 6-1, Westerville, Ohio (Big Walnut)
• Two years at High Point University
• 2019 Big South Freshman of the Year
• 2020 Big South First Team All-Conference
Coach Aird: "Kaley is an elite athlete who comes to us after two solid seasons in the college game. She is a physical middle blocker that can affect a match in a variety of ways. She has a great engine, wants to work hard and is a very important addition. She has some lofty goals and we are excited to help her reach them."
Isa Lopez, DS/L, 5-5, Richardson, Texas (Ursuline Academy of Dallas)
• Played Freshman year at La Salle University
