Couch Named To 2021-22 U.S. Women’s National Indoor Development Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The U.S. Women's National Indoor Field Hockey Team Head Coach Jun Kentwell and coaching staff announced the 2021-22 Junior and Senior Indoor U.S. Women's National Team squads on June 17. Indiana Field Hockey's Hailey Couch was named to the U.S. Women's National Indoor Development Team.

"I am extremely thankful for my opportunity to train with the USA national indoor team throughout this past spring. Jun really challenges me as a player and has helped develop my skill set tremendously. She has high expectations for her players work ethic and truly has so much passion for the sport. Her passion for the game is inspiring and has helped me regain my passion for the sport," said Couch.

The highly competitive development team consists of 15 players that could have the opportunity to get called up and compete with the women's national squad. The team has trained together thought out the spring with the national teams being announced on June 17.

Prior to sitting out the 2020-21 season due to safety concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, Couch led the squad in 2019 with 21 points on 10 goals and one assist. She took a team high 43 shots in which 29 were on frame.

The Easton, Pa. native was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team in 2019 and earned a spot on the Big Ten Preseason Watchlist. She isn't stranger to the U.S. Field Hockey program as Couch got the opportunity to compete at the USA Field Hockey Young Women's National Championships during her sophomore season.

"With everything I have learned, I am excited to use the new skills this upcoming fall in my last season as a Hoosier," Couch said.
