
IU Athletics in 14th Place in Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup Standings After Fall, Winter Sports Seasons

Bloomington, Ind. – Indiana University stands in 14th place nationally in the 2020-21 Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings, released earlier today. The rankings measure the overall success of athletic programs by awarding points based on how individual sports programs perform at NCAA Championship competitions or where they place in final national rankings.
Indiana has amassed 520.50 points after the completion of the fall and winter sports seasons. IU has earned points in 10 sports, highlighted by men's soccer (90 points, 2nd place), women's basketball (73 points, 5th place), men's swimming and diving (72 points, 6th place) and football (63 points, 13th place). Other programs to earn points include women's swimming and diving (60 points, 15th place), men's indoor track and field (51 points, 22nd place), women's cross country (36 points, 19th place), wrestling (27.5 points, 46th place), women's indoor track and field (26 points, 45th place), and men's cross country (22 points, 26th place).
The final rankings, which will include spring sport results, will be released July 2.
The Big Ten Conference, meanwhile, leads all other conferences with eight teams ranked in the Top 25. In addition to IU, Michigan (2nd), Ohio State (4th), Minnesota (8th), Iowa (13th), Wisconsin (19th), Nebraska (21st) and Penn State (22nd) are also in that select group. The remainder of the Big Ten program's current standings include Northwestern (34th), Illinois (43rd), Purdue (44th), Michigan State (50th), Maryland (55th) and Rutgers (60th).
