BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University men's soccer sophomore forward Victor Bezerra and redshirt senior defender Spencer Glass have been selected to the 2020-21 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Men's Soccer Team.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable).
Bezerra, a MAC Hermann runner-up, just wrapped up his second year of his sport marketing and management degree. During his sophomore season, Bezerra earned All-America first team honors, was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and took home All-Big Ten first team accolades. He scored a team-high 12 goals, including five tallies in the three Big Ten Tournament matches, the most ever by a Hoosier in a single B1G tournament run.
Glass, an All-America third team selection by the United Soccer Coaches, graduated in December 2020 with bachelor degrees in marketing, management and sales. Despite only playing in eight matches, Glass led the Hoosiers in assists (5) and assists per game (.625), while captaining the Big Ten's most prolific defense in the regular season.
The Hoosier duo are now eligible for the national ballot for consideration for CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades. The national teams will be named on July 5.
