
Indiana Field Hockey Unveils 2021 Slate

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Field Hockey Head Coach Kayla Bashore and staff have announced the competition schedule for the 2021 season. The slate features 11 out of conference contests and eight Big Ten opponents.
Indiana will play two exhibition matches on August 20 and August 22. They will travel to Ball State to play a scrimmage against the Cardinals starting at 1 p.m. The Hoosiers will then host the annual Cream/Crimson scrimmage at 1 p.m. on August 22.
The regular season opens for Indiana on the road with a trip to Mount Pleasant, Mich. They will first play Central Michigan on Friday, August 27 at 1 p.m. before playing a neutral site game against Davidson on Saturday, August 28. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Remaining on the road for the first part of Labor Day Weekend, the Hoosiers will make a stop in Oxford, Ohio to play Miami (OH) on Friday, September 3 beginning at 2 p.m. Staying in the state of the Ohio, the squad will face Lafayette College in Columbus, Ohio. The match on Sunday September 5 kicks off at 11 a.m. Indiana will finish the holiday weekend with their home opener on Labor Day. Monday's match against Bellarmine commences at 3 p.m.
The next weekend, Indiana will play a lone contest at Louisville on Friday, September 10 under the lights at 6 p.m.
Iowa is the first conference opponent the Hoosiers will face in the 2021 season as they host the Hawkeyes on Friday, September 17 beginning at 3 p.m. Indiana will remain home on Sunday, September 19 as they play host to Richmond at 12 p.m.
Maryland comes to town on Friday, September 24 to play a 12 p.m. game against the Hoosiers before Indiana makes the trip to Muncie, Ind. for a match on Sunday, September 26 against Ball State at 1 p.m.
It's a Big Ten road weekend for the Hoosiers on Friday, October 1 and Sunday, October 3. Indiana will first face Penn State on October 1 at 6 p.m. before ending the sixth weekend of action at Rutgers on October 3. The match against the Scarlet Knights is set for 11 a.m.
For the second weekend in a row, Indiana will hit the road as they travel to Ohio State and Kent State on Friday, October 8 and Sunday, October 10. The match against the Buckeyes is scheduled for 3 p.m. while they will face off with the Golden Flashes at 12 p.m.
The Hoosiers will remain home for the weekend of October 15 as they will face Big Ten foes Michigan State and Michigan. Indiana will welcome the Spartans on Friday, October 15 at 3 p.m. followed by the Wolverines on Sunday, October 17 at 12 p.m.
Indiana's seniors will play their final home game of their careers on Friday, October 22 as they host Saint Louis. The game is slated for a 12 p.m. start. The squad will then end the weekend in Athens, Ohio when they square off against Ohio at 11 a.m.
The Hoosiers close out the regular season in Evanston, Ill. on Sunday, October 31 as they face off with Northwestern. The match against the Wildcats will commence at 1 p.m. ET.
The 2021 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament will be played in Piscataway, N.J. and will be hosted by Rutgers beginning on Thursday, November 4 and wrapping up on Sunday, November 7.
The opening rounds of the NCAA tournament will be played at school sites with Michigan playing host to the NCAA Field Hockey Championship. The semifinal games will be played on Friday, November 19 with the national championship game being held on Sunday, November 21.
