Indiana’s Gillard Wins Second-Straight State Am

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Incoming transfer Noah Gillard earned back-to-back victories at the IGA Indiana State Amateur at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne on Wednesday. He carded a three-round score of 211 (72-70-69) to finish five under par.

• Gillard, a transfer from the University of Illinois, is the first player to win back-to-back titles at the event since former Hoosier All-American Jeff Overton accomplished the feat from 2003-04.
• The Greenwood, Ind., native enter the final round at a three-stroke deficit, but was one of only seven golfers to shoot under par in the final round to flip the leaderboard in his favor.
• Gillard was one of two golfers to shoot par or better in all three rounds of the competition.
• He finished the competition second on par 3's (-1), t-third on par 4's (+2), and t-fourth on par 5's (-6). Gillard was tied for the tournament lead with 15 birdies and was second with 46 pars.
