Washington Set To Represent Team USA at Junior World Championships

Ufa, Russia – Junior wrestler Donnell Washington will represent Team USA this upcoming week in the 2021 Junior World Championships in Ufa, Russia. Washington qualified to the national team after winning a Junior National Championship in the 79-kg weight class in early May.
After finishing sixth at last year's Big Ten Championships, he qualified for his first NCAA Championships in the 174-lb weight class before following up his successful sophomore campaign with a Junior National Championship.
Washington is one of 22 wrestlers from across the globe in the 79-kg weight class. The draw for the freestyle event will be Sunday, August 15th starting at 8:00 a.m EST.
Competition in the 79-kg weight class begins Monday, August 16th at 2:00 a.m EST. with the prelims, quarterfinals and semifinals.
