Langford, Celtics Finish Runner-Up in NBA Summer League

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Boston Celtics (4-1) and former All-Big team selection Romeo Langford finished as the runner-up in the annual NBA Summer League played at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The Celtics fell to the Sacramento Kings (5-0) in the title game by a score of 100-67. Langford did not see time in the game.
In total, Langford appeared in three summer league games for the Celtics, all victories for Boston. The New Albany native produced 11.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in his three starts. He shot 44.0 percent (11-of-25) from the floor, 38.4 percent (5-of-13) from the 3-point line, and 66.7 percent (6-of-9) from the free throw line. Langford was +26 in 78 minutes on the floor during the summer league.
Langford enters his third season in the NBA and is coming off a season in which he played 18 games (15.7 minutes per game) for the Celtics. He averaged 3.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per contest.
In the playoffs, he upped his minutes to 27.3 per game in four games played against the No. 2-seeded Brooklyn Nets. He averaged 9.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists a night. His best game came in Game 5 when he tallied 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor.

Indiana graduate Justin Smith played in four games for the Miami Heat (2-3). He played a total of 39 minutes across the four games, which included one start. He scored nine points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor to go along with five total rebounds and two assists.
