IUFH Earns Three Preseason Big Ten Honorees

Bloomington, Ind.- The Big Ten Conference released its preseason honorees for the 2021 Field Hockey season on Wednesday.
Senior forward Hailey Couch, senior midfielder Mary Kate Kesler and freshman midfielder Kira Curland were named among the Big Ten Field Hockey Players to Watch List for the upcoming season.
Couch enters her senior season as the program's active leader in goals (10). During her sophomore season in 2019, she tallied 10 goals and one assist enroute to earning Second Team All-Big Ten honors.
Kesler heads into her senior year after recording a team-high three goals and seven points in the 2020-2021 season. The four-year player has 15 career points and has played in 48 matches during her time at IU.
Curland comes to Bloomington for her freshman season after playing club field hockey in Germany as well as appearing for the German U16 and U18 junior national teams.
The Hoosiers open the 2021 campaign with a weekend trip to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to take on the host Central Michigan on Friday, Aug. 27 and Davidson on Saturday, Aug. 28.
