Hoosiers open season with a Big Ten game for third time under Tom Allen on Saturday, Sept. 4 in Iowa City
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 17/17 Indiana football program will begin the 2021 season on the road in Iowa City against No. 18/18 Iowa on Saturday (Sept. 4) at Kinnick Stadium. The Hoosiers are among the top 25 in the national polls for the 11th straight week and will begin a season with a Big Ten opponent for the third time under fifth-year head coach Tom Allen.

Setting The Scene
• No. 17/17 Indiana kicks off its 137th season of football at No. 18/18 Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 4. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CST/3:30 p.m. EST at Kinnick Stadium (69,250; Field Turf) on BTN.
• IU is ranked in the preseason for the first time since 1969 and has appeared in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll for 11-straight weeks, a program record.
• The Hoosiers AP Top 25 streak shares the 13th-longest active streak in the nation.
• Indiana has won 15-of-17 season openers, including last year's 36-35 overtime victory over No. 8 Penn State.
• IU will open with a Big Ten foe for the third time in Tom Allen's five campaigns: No. 2 Ohio State (2017) and No. 8 Penn State (2020).
• This marks the 13th time the Hoosiers have started with a ranked opponent and third time in five years.
