BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Basketball has finalized its 2021-22 schedule with the announcement of its complete non-conference slate.
In all, the Hoosiers will face four teams in non-conference action that made the 2021 NCAA Tournament including defending national champions Stanford, Kentucky, NC State and Wright State.
IU is coming off its sixth-straight 20-win season in 2020-21 where it finished 21-6 overall and 16-2 in Big Ten play while advancing to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. All five starters return from that campaign including All-Americans junior forward Mackenzie Holmes and senior guard Grace Berger.
The Hoosiers will face Indianapolis in exhibition play on Nov. 5 as a tune up to the regular season opener at Butler on Nov. 10. The doors open back up to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Nov. 14 when IU hosts the Kentucky Wildcats. It will also host Norfolk State (Nov. 16) before heading out on a three-game road stretch over the Thanksgiving holiday when it heads to Quinnipiac (Nov. 20).
Previously announced, Indiana will face the Cardinal (Nov. 25) and Miami (FL) (Nov. 27) in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Classic in the Bahamas. Returning home in December, the Hoosiers will get another test in NC State (Dec. 2) in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge which will be a rematch of the 2021 NCAA Sweet Sixteen matchup. Indiana was victorious in that postseason game, defeating the Wolfpack, 73-70.
Non-conference games will be sandwiched in between the first two league games of the season as IU hosts Fairfield (Dec. 9) and Western Michigan (Dec. 19). In its last two games before Big Ten play, the Hoosiers will host Wright State (Dec. 21), who advanced to the NCAA Tournament second round, and SIUC (Dec. 23).
Season tickets (renewals and new purchases) will go on sale on Monday, Sept. 20. All game times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
