Indiana Suffers First Defeat in 4-0 Setback to Lafayette

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Indiana Field Hockey team dropped its first game of the season with a 4-0 defeat to Lafayette in Columbus.
With the setback, IU drops to 3-1 (0-0) while Lafayette improves to 3-1 (0-0).
KEY MOMENTS
• Lafayette opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a goal from Molly McAndrew off a penalty corner.
• Freshman midfielder Maggie Carter and freshman forward sent shots on goal in the first quarter but there was nothing to show for it.
• Lafayette found a second early in the second period off another penalty corner.
• Freshman goalie Arabella Loveridge made a number of saves to keep IU within striking range.
• Freshman midfielder Kira Curland attempted to find the opener for IU late in the second quarter but her shot went wide of the cage.
