
Indiana Wrestling Narrowly Loses to Michigan State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– In a back-and-forth dual match, Indiana Wrestling fell just short to Michigan State on Monday afternoon, losing 17-15 in the home opener at Wilkinson Hall. The Hoosiers' record now stands at 2-3 overall and 0-3 in the Big Ten.
KEY MOMENTS
• After being down 2-0 to start, graduate student and No. 18 Brock Hudkins (133) came back to beat No. 11 Rayvon Foley by a 5-3 decision.
• Junior Cayden Rooks (141) earned his second straight victory, winning in a 3-1 decision over Jordan Hamdan.
• Redshirt junior Graham Rooks (149) snapped a three-match losing streak, easily taking care of Peyton Omania in a 8-4 win by decision.
• In perhaps the most exciting dual of the night, junior Nick South (174) battled to the very end with Nate Jimenez, escaping with a 2-1 win by decision in the second period of sudden victory.
• Redshirt sophomore Donnell Washington held strong against No. 29 Layne Malcezewski, earning an 8-5 win by decision.

• Hudkins' victory continues his undefeated start to the season, owning an 8-0 record.
• C. Rooks' second consecutive win gives him an 11-4 record for the year.
• G. Rooks is back over .500 for the season with an 8-7 individual record now.
