
Berger and Patberg Named To 2022 WBCA ‘So You Want To Be A Coach’

ATLANTA – Indiana guards Grace Berger and Ali Patberg have been selected to the 2022 'So You Want To Be A Coach" class.
The program sponsored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in partnership with in partnership with WeCOACH, announced the 19th class in the program's history on Thursday. Each student-athlete will participate in the two-day workshop on March 31 and April 1 during the WBCA Convention in Minneapolis.
The "So" program increases the understanding and application of skills necessary to secure coaching positions in women's basketball, increases the understanding and awareness of competencies necessary for success in coaching, introduces female basketball players to coaches and administrators, and raises awareness of the existing talent pool of female basketball players who have a passion and interest in coaching the game of women's basketball.
The duo is currently the team's second and third leading scorers, respectively, and have led Indiana to a 14-2 overall record and perfect 6-0 start in Big Ten Play. Berger averages 15.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists per game and shoots 44.8 percent from the floor. She was named a preseason All-Big Ten selection, Cheryl Miller preseason watch list, Wade Trophy Watch preseason watch list and Senior CLASS Award Top 30 candidate. Patberg averages 12.3 points, 3.9 assists and a +2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio while also shooting 44.5 percent from the floor. She is a Nancy Lieberman preseason watch list candidate, Wade Trophy preseason watch list and Senior CLASS Award Top 30 candidate.
