SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Senior center Izzy Mandema turned in a pair of hat tricks as No. 11 IU defeated Azusa Pacific (11-6) and Iona (18-8) on day two of the UCSB Winter Invite.

KEY MOMENTS

Indiana went ahead early in both games on Saturday, as Mandema scored two goals off the bat against Azusa Pacific to help take 5-2 lead after one.
Freshman attacker Skylar Kidd got in on the hat trick action in the third quarter, helping put the Hoosiers up by five, 10-5.
Junior attacker Lanna Debow added one more in the fourth as Indiana held the Cougars scoreless in the final eight minutes of play.
Coming back to the water against Iona, the Hoosiers offense was cooking as 11 different players combined to score 18 goals behind Mandema's hat trick and two each from Kidd, senior attacker Lauren Etnyre, junior driver Rebecca Schofield and freshman center Sophia Sollie.
IU would lead 9-5 at intermission and laid it on in the second half, outscoring the Gaels 9-3 to close out Saturday action with a win.
