Indiana University is in its 122nd season of competition in men's basketball and will host Big Ten Minnesota on Sunday in the second of a two-game homestand. The Hoosiers are coming off a 67-51 win over #13/12 Ohio State on Thursday night. The Golden Gophers are coming off a 76-53 loss at home to Illinois. IU has won the last six meetings in Bloomington.

IU Hall of Famer, All-American, Big Ten MVP and Indiana native Mike Woodson is the first Hoosier graduate to lead the program at the start of the season since Lou Watson in 1965. Woodson brings nine years of NBA head coaching experience (Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks) back to his alma mater and worked for seven franchises as an assistant coach and won an NBA title in 2004 with the Detroit Pistons. He played 11 seasons in the NBA as a player and is the fifth all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,061 points.
Minnesota Coach Ben Johnson also is in his first year with the Golden Gophers.

IU is first in the Big Ten and second nationally in field goal percentage defense overall (35.1%/36.3% B1G only). IU also leads the league in scoring defense (60.8/57.8 B1G) and is second in Big Ten in blocked shots (5.7/4.5 B1G), third in the Big Ten in field goal percentage (47.8%) and fourth in rebound margin (+8.43), and in 3-point field goal percentage defense (29.6%).
ALL-AMERICAN TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS
Junior/sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis is living up to his preseason accolades averaging 19.9 points (4th in B1G), 8.5 rebounds (5th), shooting 60.3% from the floor (3rd) and contributing 3.2 blocked shots per game (1st).
He set a Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall record by scoring 43 points against Marshall, breaking the previous mark (42) set by Steve Alford against Michigan State. The leading returning scorer in the Big Ten has been named a first-team 2021-22 Preseason All-American by the Associated Press, and selected to the watch list for the Karl Malone Watch, the NABC Player of the Year, Wooden Award (Midseason Top 25) and Naismith Award.
He has had five double-doubles this season and 27 in his career with IU posting a 21-6 record in those games. Jackson-Davis now has scored 1,227 points as a Hoosier, rating 36th all-time in IU lore. He had 27 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and five blocked shots against OSU. He is averaging 21.7 points and 12.0 boards in three career games against Minnesota. He is the fifth active leading scorer in the country and is first in free throw attempts (487) and second in free throws made (325) since the start of the 2019-20 season.
