Hoosiers Impress at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships

Louisville, Ky. ––––– The Indiana Men's Tennis team was in action over the weekend at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships where the Hoosiers had a number of players put together impressive performances in both the singles and doubles brackets.

The Hoosiers were represented by Patrick Fletchall, Michael Andre, Luka Vukovic, Ilya Tiraspolsky, Jagger Saylor, Ekansh Kumar, Sam Landau and Luc Boulier in Louisville.

Indiana players in all areas of the bracket made noise at the regional. The group of freshmen who participated –––– Boulier, Landau and Kumar, all fared very well for their first regional.

In Landau's run in the singles bracket, he knocked off Joubert Klopper of Vanderbilt, the No. 59 ranked singles player in the nation.

The doubles team of Boulier/Landau competed to an excellent win in the round of 16 over the No. 1 doubles seeds of Fransisco Rocha and Oskar Brostrom Poulsen from Middle Tennessee State, the No. 31 ranked team in the nation.

In Kumar's play with Michael Andre in doubles, the duo advanced to the quarterfinals by way of a thriller of a match, topping Vanderbilt's Nathan Cox and Michael Ross, 8-7 (7-5).

Additionally, four Hoosiers: Patrick Fletchall, Luka Vukovic, Michael Andre and Sam Landau all reached the round of 32 in singles play.

Jagger Saylor reached the consolation round of 16 in singles play, as well.
