Hoosiers Fall Short to No. 4 Northwestern in Season Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana Field Hockey lost in a close game to No. 4 Northwestern at home, 2-1, on Friday.
With today's result in the books, Indiana's season has come to a close with an overall record of 9-10 and a 1-7 conference mark.
KEY MOMENTS
• It was a scoreless first half as the Hoosier defense did an excellent job containing Northwestern's attack. Indiana sophomore goalkeeper Arabella Loveridge had two saves and Indiana's defense only allowed one Northwestern shot in the first period.
• In the 43rd minute, Northwestern got on the board and broke through the scoring barrier as Peyton Halsey put the Wildcats up 1-0.
• Right at the end of the third period, Northwestern added another goal as Bente Baekers found the back of the cage to make it a 2-0 game at the 45th minute.
• The Hoosiers put together a furious comeback in the fourth quarter to push the Wildcats. At the 50th minute, sophomore Sofia Arrebola Garcia scored off a penalty corner with juniors Meghan Dillon and Jemima Cookson assisting on the play.
• The Hoosiers had two shot attempts to tie at the 58th minute but could not convert.
