Indiana Falls to No. 12 Purdue in Four Sets

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Despite winning the opening set, the Indiana Volleyball team (13-11, 6-6) couldn't overcome Purdue's offensive attack on Sunday afternoon in Holloway Gymnasium
The Hoosiers fell in four sets (25-18, 15-25, 10-25, 13-25), snapping a four-game winning streak in the conference.
Camryn Haworth provided 33 assists in the defeat while Paula Cerame dug 14 balls and had four service aces.
IU has now completed 24 matches in the regular season with the final 25% (eight matches) left to play as the calendar flips to November.
Trips to Nebraska (Wednesday) and Wisconsin (Sunday) await the Hoosiers this week before returning home to Wilkinson Hall on Friday, Nov. 11th against Penn State.
SET 1 (Indiana 25, Purdue 18)
• IU got off to a quick start with a kill from Kaley Rammelsberg extending the lead out to 6-3 in the opening set.
• The Hoosiers went on an 8-0 run in the middle of the set that featured three aces from Paula Cerame to break open the lead at 15-5.
• Candela Alonso-Corcelles had a kill to break a brief, three-point run for the Boilers and give IU a 21-14 lead.
• IU closed out the set on a kill from Savannah Kjolhede to take the opening game 25-18.
SET 2 (Purdue 25, Indiana 15)
• The Hoosiers used a kill from Kaley Rammelsberg to break into the Purdue lead and draw within six at 7-13.
• Camryn Haworth and Savannah Kjolhede combined on a block to stop the Boilers at the net to close the lead to 10-17.
• Morgan Geddes had a late service ace but Purdue would close out the set 25-15.
SET 3 (Purdue 25, Indiana 10)
• Block assists from Mady Saris and Kaley Rammelsberg helped stop a 6-0 run for Purdue early in the frame.
• Morgan Geddes had a kill to get to 10-24 but Purdue would close out the set 25-10.
SET 4 (Purdue 25, Indiana 13)
• Savannah Kjolhede took a ball right down the middle on the set from Camryn Haworth to bring the lead to just 6-11.
• Kenzie Daffinee had an outstanding back row service ace to catch Purdue off guard.
• Purdue would close out the match with a 25-13 win in the fourth set.
