COLLEGE PARK, Md. ––––– Indiana Field Hockey lost to No. 2 Maryland on Friday night, 5-1, on the road.

The loss brings Indiana's record to 8-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

KEY MOMENTS
• Near the end of the first quarter Maryland scored two goals at the 10^th and 13^th minute, to take an early 2-0 lead.
• The Terrapins scored another two goals consecutively late in the second quarter when Maryland went up 4-0 after two goals between the 25^th and 26^th minute.
• Indiana got on the board with only 39 seconds remaining in the first half after a successful penalty corner led to Indiana sophomore Sofia Arrebola Garcia scoring the Hoosiers' first goal of the game, to make it 4-1.
• The Terrapins added on their final goal at the 35^th minute from a shot taken by Nathalie Fiechter.
• At the 57^th minute, sophomore Goalkeeper Arabella Loveridge made program history on a save, stopping Sam Zwyna's shot, and recording her 18^th save of the night.

NOTABLES
• Loveridge's 18 saves set a new Indiana program record for most saves by an Indiana goalkeeper in a single game. The previous record was 17, set by Molly Pulkrabek against Ball State on Sept. 21, 2002.
• With Loveridge's performance tonight, she surpasses her career-high for most saves in a season for her, too. In her freshman campaign in 2021, she registered 60 saves.
• The goal from Arrebola Garcia was her third of the season and second in the last three games.

• IU will have the rest of the weekend off from play and will pick up with their next games on the weekend of Oct.14-16. The Hoosiers will play at Michigan on Oct. 14 and at Michigan State on the Oct. 16.
