Nov. 10, 2022
• No. 13/14 Indiana (2-0) beat Bethune-Cookman (0-2), 101-49, on Thursday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• In their NBA playing days, Indiana head coach Mike Woodson and Bethune-Cookman head coach Reggie Theus played in 195 games together with the Kansas City/Sacramento Kings.
• This was the first meeting between Indiana and Bethune-Cookman in program history.
• Indiana will travel for their first road game of the year at Xavier on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Cintas Center.
• The Hoosiers shot 58.3% (35-of-60) from the field and 41.7% (10-of-24) from the 3-point line.
• Indiana made 21-of-22 free throws (95.5%). This was their seventh-best shooting performance from the charity stripe with a minimum of 10 makes since the start of 1996-1997 season.
• The Indiana defense forced Bethune-Cookman to just 20% (3-of-15) shooting from the 3-point line.
• From 14:45-7:33 in the first half, Indiana went on a 20-2 run.
• Indiana's 27 assists were the most as a team in a regulation game since the Hoosiers' 103-56 win over Delaware State on Dec. 19, 2016.
• Indiana outrebounded Bethune-Cookman, 41-19.
• IU's bench outscored Bethune-Cookman's 51-9. In its first two games, Indiana's bench has outscored opposing benches, 96-17.
• Indiana led the game for 39 minutes and 31 seconds.
• The Hoosiers scored 33 points on fastbreak opportunities.
• IU scored 42 points in the paint.
• Senior Trayce Jackson-Davis was the game's leading scorer with 21 points in 21 minutes. Jackson-Davis was 9-of-10 shooting from the field. This was Jackson-Davis' best shooting performance with five shots attempted or more since going 6-for-6 against Troy on Nov. 16, 2019.
• The game marked the 33rd time in Jackson-Davis' career in which he scored at least 20 points.
• Fifth-year senior Miller Kopp had 12 points and two assists. Kopp was 4-of-6 from the 3-point, this was his seventh career game with four or more 3-pointers made.
• Junior Jordan Geronimo had 11 points, four rebounds and two steals. This was his sixth double-digit scoring effort of his career.
• Junior Trey Galloway had 10 points, his sixth-career double-figure scoring game. The Culver native added three rebounds
• Freshman Malik Reneau scored nine points and notched four rebounds and two assists.
• Freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino recorded eight points, eight assists, five rebounds and two steals.
• Freshman Kaleb Banks scored eight points in six minutes of run.
• Fifth-year senior Xavier Johnson accounted for seven points, six assists and four rebounds.
• Sophomore Tamar Bates had five points, four assists and two rebounds.
• Sophomore Logan Duncomb had four points and four rebounds.
• Freshman CJ Gunn recorded four points on the night.
• Sixth-year senior Race Thompson had two points and four rebounds.
• Junior Anthony Leal had three minutes of run off the bench.
• Senior Nathan Childress checked in for three minutes on the night.
