Opening Tip
• Indiana University continues its 123rd season of competition in men's basketball with a matchup against Xavier as part of the Gavitt Games. Tip time is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 18 from the Cintas Center. The game will be nationally broadcasted on FS1.
• The Musketeers finished the 2021-22 season with a 23-13 record. Xavier topped Texas A&M by a score of 73-72 to win the 2022 NIT Championship.

• Friday's matchup marks the 10th between the two schools. Indiana holds an 8-1 advantage in the previous nine games, but Xavier holds serve after winning by a score of 80-65 on Nov. 24, 2007, the last time the programs played.
• Indiana Hall of Fame inductee D.J. White recorded a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double, while 15-year NBA veteran Eric Gordon added 20 points in the game.
Indiana in the Gavitt Games
• The Hoosiers will play in their fifth game in the seven-year history of the Gavitt Games. The game at Xavier will mark the second time Indiana will be on the road for the series.
• IU has won all three home matchups in the series, with wins coming against Creighton (86-65 in 2015), Marquette (96-73 in 2018), and St. John's (76-74 in 2021). The Hoosiers lone loss came at Seton Hall (84-68) in 2017.
• Both Indiana and Xavier hold records of 3-1 in Gavitt Games, tied for the highest record for any team in the series with at least four games played.
• The series is named in honor of the late Dave Gavitt, former athletic director at Providence College and the first commissioner of the original Big East Conference of 1979–2013.
