Six Hoosiers Earn CSC First Team All-District Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's soccer student-athletes Anna Bennett, Jen Blitchok, Alaina Kalin, Sydney Masur, Megan Wampler and Paige Webber were named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District First Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
The six mark the most selections in a single season for the Hoosiers since four were honored in 2017.
Bennett led the team with five points this season, scoring two goals and totaling one assist for the Hoosiers. The Holland, Mich., native scored her seventh career goal in a 2-2 draw versus Purdue.
She was a recipient of the Academic All-Big Ten award in 2021. Bennett is majoring in Elementary Education.
Blitchok is a two-time recipient of the award after she was named to the First Team list in 2021.
She was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten list and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in the 2021 season.
The Grandville, Mich., native won the Jack D. Tichenor Award which is given to the student-athelte for the highest GPA in Indiana Athletics.
She is working towards a degree in Economics at IU.
Kalin helped lead the Hoosiers to a program record with eight consecutive shutouts to start the season. The Gibsonia, Pa., native has totaled 3 goals, 5 assists and 11 points on the pitch in her career. Also contributing 5486.42 minutes in her career with the cream and crimson. She totaled two assists in IU's 3-0 win over Indiana State.
Kalin was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten list in the 2020-21 and 2021 seasons. She is majoring in Criminal Justice.
Masur contributed to the Hoosiers eight consecutive shutouts to start the season for a new program record. She also helped the Indiana defense to a program best 10 shutouts during the 2021 season.
In 2021, Masur was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and won the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in
The Montclair, N.J., native tallied one assist this season in Indiana's 5-0 win over Trine.
Masur is majoring in Finance at IU.
Wampler started every match this season (17) holding the backline strong for the Hoosiers. She contributed to eight consecutive shutouts to start the season, leading IU to a new program record. The defender scored her first career goal in IU's 1-0 win over Northwestern on Oct. 13, 2021.
The Carmel, Ind., native was earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar award in 2021 and made the Big Ten All-Tournament Team in 2019.
Wampler is set to graduate with her degree from IU in Elementary Education in the spring.
Webber netted her first sixth career goal for the Hoosiers against a 3-0 win against Indiana State this season. She scored a hat trick against Murray State in 2021 becoming the eighth player in program history to record one.
The Grand Blanc, Mich., native was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week in 2021 and led the Hoosiers in goals scored with five.
Webber is majoring in Human Biology at Indiana University.
All-District Honorees will advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The All-America recipients will be announced in early December.
