TEAM
• In the 69th all-time meeting, Indiana is now 49-18-2 in the all-time series and 49-15-1 in games played for the Old Brass Spittoon. The Hoosiers and Spartans began playing for the Old Brass Spittoon in 1950.
• The win marks Indiana's first back-to-back wins in East Lansing since winning three straight games from 1967-69.
• The 17-point comeback is Indiana's largest against Michigan State and the largest comeback since a 18-point rally at Maryland in 2015.
• Indiana is now 6-7 all-time in overtime games with three straight wins (at Michigan State, 2022; Penn State, 2020; at Purdue, 2019). Indiana is 2-1 against Michigan State all time in overtime.
• The double-overtime contest is the first since a two-overtime victory at Purdue in 2019. It is the fourth multi-overtime game in Indiana history (all double overtime contests).
• Head coach Tom Allen posted his 30th career win to become the seventh head coach In program history to reach the 30-win mark.
• Allen improved to 4-1 in overtime games.
• It was the 12th win in Allens career in a one-possession game.
• With a start by quarterback Dexter Williams II and defensive lineman Patrick Lucas Jr., 21 student-athletes have made their first career starts at Indiana.
• With a touchdown on its opening drive, Indiana scored for the third time this season on its opening offensive possession.
• The 257 rushing yards are the most by an Indiana offense in a Big Ten game since it gained 260 yards versus Rutgers in 2019.
• IU became the first Big Ten team to win a game with two-or-fewer completions since Michigan State defeated Maryland with two completions in 2017. It's just the fourth time since 1996 a Big Ten team won a game with two-or-fewer completions.
• Indiana's captains were AJ Barner, Cam Jones, Devon Matthews and Tiawan Mullen.
• Michigan State won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. Indiana received the opening kickoff.

• Posted a career-best nine tackles, moving past his previous high of six, which he accomplished three times in his career, last against Penn State earlier this season.

• Now 38-of-46 in his career on field goal attempts.
• Moved into No. 13 on the career scoring charts with seven points on the day to push his career total to 186 He passed Jade Butcher (180; 1967-69) and now trailing Stevie Scott III (192; 2018-20) for No. 12 on the career list.

• Made 41st career start, which leads all Hoosiers.

• Pinned one punt inside the 20-yard line for his 27th punt inside the 20 on the season.
Bryant Fitzgerald | DB | Sr.-R+
• Totaled a career-high 14 tackles to best his previous high of 10 stops against Western Kentucky earlier this season.
• The 14 stops are the most by a Hoosier in 2022, surpassing a pair of 13 tackle games, last by Bradley Jennings Jr. against Michigan.
Jonathan Haynes | DB | Gr.+.
• Posted second-career double-digit tackle game with 12 stops. It surpassed his 10 stops at Auburn while a student-athlete at Ole Miss in 2019.
• Collected his first interception at Indiana and first since 2020 at Arkansas as a member of the Ole Miss program.
James Head Jr. | DL | Sr.+.
• Tallied a career-best 10 tackles, moving past his previous high of five, which he had twice, last against Penn State earlier this season.
Jaylin Lucas | RB | Fr.
• Finished with 168 kickoff return yards, which rank No. 4 in program history for a single game and are the most since Demetrius McCray (191) versus Wisconsin in 2008.
• Lucas returned a second-half kick off 88 yards for his second kick return touchdown of the season. That ties him for No. 2 on Indiana's single-season charts with Ray FIsher (2009) and is now one shy of Marcus Thigpen (3; 2006). That total is also No. 2 in IU's career record books, behind Thigpen.

• Posted a career-best seven tackles to move past his previous high of three at Cal in 2019 while a student-athlete at Ole Miss.
Devon Matthews | DB | Sr.+
• Made his 34th career start, which ranks No. 3 on the team.
• Posted second career double-digit tackle game with 10 stops. Both have come in 2022.
Noah Pierre | DB | Sr.-R
• Logged third career forced fumble.
Shaun Shivers | RB | Sr.
• Logged fourth career 100-yard rushing game and second at Indiana with 115 yards on 13 carries.
• Scored on a career-long 79-yard rush for the longest rushing score by a Hoosier since Tevin Coleman (90 yards) at Ohio State in 2014.

• Tied career-high for tackles with eight to match his total against Idaho earlier this season.

• Made first career start in third career appearance.
• Logged first career rushing touchdown on a 34-yard run in the first quarter.
