BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– The Big Ten Conference announced its postseason Field Hockey honors on Wednesday afternoon. Indiana's Sydney Keld and Kennedy Reardon were recognized by the conference.
Keld was named Second Team All-Big Ten in a vote from the conference's coaches. The redshirt junior had a fantastic season for the Hoosiers. She scored six goals and had three assists for a season total of 15 points.
Additionally, Keld finished the regular season as the leader in defensive saves in all of NCAA Division I Field Hockey with 12. That mark is the also the new season-high for defensive saves in a season in Indiana program history.
"Sydney has been stellar for us in both circles," Indiana head coach Kayla Bashore said. "She leads the NCAA in defensive saves and has been a crucial part of our attacking penalty corner unit. It has been fun to see her grow over the past two years."
Keld's distinction marks the third time in the last four years Indiana had a player selected to an All-Big Ten team.
Senior midfielder Kennedy Reardon was named one of nine Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honorees.
Reardon has been an integral part of the Indiana program as a leader and playmaker on the field. The Pennsylvania native has played in all 71 of Indiana's games the last four years.
"Kennedy is excellent in every aspect of her life," Bashore said. "Her mutual respect for others transcends our team and can be noticed wherever she goes. She makes us so proud, and we feel so honored to coach her every day."
Both Reardon and Keld were the team's captains for the 2022 season.
