Three Football Student-Athletes Tabbed Academic All-District

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators announced its annual Academic All-District football teams on Tuesday (Nov. 22), with the Indiana football trio of Chris Freeman, Caleb Murphy and Beau Robbins each earning the distinction.
Each of the three honorees are making their first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District team and are now eligible for the Academic All-America team that will be announced in December.
The primary kickoff specialist for the Hoosiers, Freeman owns a 3.62 GPA in finance and has seen action in all 11 games in 2022. He owns 41 kick offs and has 20 touchbacks on the season.
Murphy has appeared in all 11 games this season and made his first two career starts at center during Weeks 3 and 4. The redshirt sophomore has been a key part of the Hoosiers punt and placement protection units during the last two seasons but stepped in and made his first career start in Indiana's overtime win against Western Michigan in Week 3 and followed that up with a start at Cincinnati the next week. He owns a 3.61 GPA as a marketing major.
With a 3.60 GPA in finance, Robbins has appeared in nine games with three starts along the defensive line. He has posted a career-best 12 tackles, including at least one stop in eight of nine appearances and 1.5 tackles for loss on the year. He logged his first career sack in the season opener versus Illinois and has four multi-tackle games on the year.
Indiana wraps up the regular season with the battle for the Old Oaken Bucket. The Hoosiers will host Purdue at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday (Nov. 26) with the game airing on the Big Ten Network.
