Dec. 20, 2022
• No. 18/21 Indiana (8-3, 1-1) defeated Elon (2-10, 0-0), 96-72, on Tuesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• This was the first ever meeting between Indiana and Elon.
• The Hoosiers shot 58% (40-of-69) from the field and 40% (8-of-20) from 3-point range.
• Indiana outrebounded Elon, 39-23.
• Indiana scored 58 points from the paint.
• IU got 37 points from its bench.
• Indiana's defense forced 19 Elon turnovers and scored 18 points from them.
• The Hoosiers scored 17 points on fastbreak opportunities.
• Indiana's offense generated 23 assists.
• This was the second time this season that Indiana had five scorers in double-figures. The previous was against Arizona on Dec. 10.
• Indiana's next game will be its final non-conference contest as it hosts Kennesaw State on Friday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• Sixth-year senior Race Thompson had 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting with 11 rebounds and a career-high four blocks. This was his third straight game scoring in double figures and the fifth time doing so in his last six games.
• It was also Thompson's ninth career double-double and his first of the season.
• Freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino had a career-high 17 points along with seven assists, two rebounds and two steals.
• Fifth-year senior Miller Kopp had 13 points, three assists, two steals and two rebounds. Kopp has made a 3-pointer in 11-of-12 games this year and has made two or more 3-pointers in the last four of five games.
• Freshman CJ Gunn scored a career-high 11 points, on 5-of-10 shooting as well as three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
• Sophomore Logan Duncomb had 10 points, five rebounds and two assists. His 10 points were a career-high.
• Freshman Malik Reneau notched nine points and a career-high seven rebounds in his second career start.
• Sophomore Tamar Bates recorded eight points on 3-of-3 shooting and had four rebounds and two steals.
• Freshman Kaleb Banks tied his career-high with 8 points in 11 minutes played.
• Junior Trey Galloway put up two points, three rebounds and three assists.
• Junior Anthony Leal had five minutes of run.
• Senior Nathan Childress got two minutes of playing time.
