BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis head coach Ramiro Azcui has announced the Hoosiers' 2023 Spring schedule.
Indiana will host 12 home matches and compete in 11 on the road.
"We're excited to return to a normal season and to have the opportunity to play a full competition schedule," Azcui said. "We have four returners and have added two graduate transfers in Lauren Lemonds and Saby Nihalani that will bring us a lot of depth."
The Hoosiers will begin the season at home with three straight home matches beginning with a doubleheader against Butler and Bellarmine on Jan. 16, Cincinnati (Jan. 22) and West Virginia (Jan. 28) at the IU Tennis Center.
The team will open up February with a trip to the east coast for a couple of matches at Cornell (Feb. 3) and Yale (Feb. 5). Indiana will return home for a matchup against Xavier on Feb. 11.
They will head west for matches against Utah (Feb. 17) and Colorado (Feb. 19).
IU will close out the month at the IU Tennis Center with back-to-back matches against Western Michigan (Feb. 25) and Belmont (Feb. 26).
Big Ten play will begin on March 5 as Indiana hosts Northwestern. The Hoosiers will continue play at home with two matches against Rutgers (March 10) and Maryland (March 11).
During spring break, Indiana will head out west to Las Vegas for a match against the UNLV Rebels.
The Hoosiers will spend the next three weeks on the road against Big Ten opponents in Penn State (March 26), Nebraska (March 31) and Iowa (April 2).
IUWT will close out their home slate with Michigan State (April 8) and Michigan (April 9) in Bloomington. The Hoosiers final matches of the season against Purdue (April 15), Wisconsin (April 21) and Minnesota (April 23).
"Overall, we are excited about the opportunities of our schedule this year and look forward to the continuous development of our players," Azcui said.
The Big Ten Tournament will be hosted by Purdue from April 26-30 in West Lafayette, Ind.
