
Brathwaite and Marshall Crowned On Final Day Of B1G Indoor Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – Rikkoi Brathwaite and Camden Marshall picked up indivudal Big Ten gold medals as Indiana Track & Field completed the 2022 Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Hoosier men finished in fourth as a team with 80 points while the women finished in ninth with 33 points.
The Iowa men took home the team title with 117 points and Minnesota won the women's championships with 102 points.
KEY MOMENTS
• Rikkoi Brathwaite defended his 60m title as he went 6.57 for the gold medal. Antonio Laidler finished in eighth with a time of 6.81.
• In the next event for the Hoosiers, freshman Camden Marshall made a savvy move in the final 100m of the 800m to cross the finish line first in a time of 1:49.33.
• Seeing a strong closing lap, Ben Veatch captured silver in the mile on Saturday afternoon after clocking a time 4:08.50.
• Veatch returned in the 5000m as he also saw silver in the event with a time of 13:56.28. Arjun Jha also picked up a podium spot with a fourth place finish and a time of 13:57.51.
• In the women's mile final, Bailey Hertenstein and Hannah Stoffel placed seventh and eighth, respectively. Hertenstein saw a time of 4:41.98 while Stoffel picked up a time of 4:43.57.
• Maria Anderson crushed her previous personal record with a time of 1:28.04 in the 600m final. Anderson took home the bronze medal in the event.
• Shaton Vaughn, Micah Camble, Parker Raymond, and Kenny Benton cruised to a third place finish in the men's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:08.31.
• Benton competed in the like final of the 400m where he finished in seventh with a personal best of 46.64. He also competed in the 200m, placing seventh and garnering a time of 21.24.
• Anderson, Morgan Snow, Shynae Deas, and Kaylee Lane combined for a time of 3:40.98 which was good for seventh place overall.
• Mahogany Jenkins kicked off the field events for the Hoosiers on Saturday morning in the high jump. Jenkins cleared a height of 1.75m (5' 8.75") and placed seventh.
• Jyles Etienne also placed seventh in the high jump after clearing a mark of 2.10m (6' 10.75").
• In the men's weight throw, Sean Mockler captured a heave of 20.77m (68' 1.75") which was good for seventh place.
