Indiana University is in its 122nd season of competition in men's basketball and will host #18/18 Illinois on Saturday afternoon. The Hoosiers are coming off a 68-55 win at Maryland and have a modest two-game winning streak after also securing a 74-57 home win against Penn State in the team's last home game. Illinois stands atop the Big Ten standings and enters the game on a three-game winning streak. The streak includes wins over No. 10 Michigan State (56-55) and Np. 11 Wisconsin (80-67).

IU Hall of Famer, All-American, Big Ten MVP and Indiana native Mike Woodson is the first Hoosier graduate to lead the program at the start of the season since Lou Watson in 1965. Woodson brings nine years of NBA head coaching experience (Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks) back to his alma mater and worked for seven franchises as an assistant coach and won an NBA title in 2004 with the Detroit Pistons. He played 11 seasons in the NBA as a player and is the fifth all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,061 points.
Illinois coach Brad Underwood is in his fifth year in Champaign.
DEFENSE LEADS THE HOOSIERS
IU is first in the Big Ten and seventh in country in field goal percentage defense (37.3%). They also lead in Big Ten play in that category (39.8%). The Hoosiers also lead the league in scoring defense (63.4) overall and in conference play (63.8). In conference games, the Hoosiers are second in 3-point field goal defense (32.4%) and blocked shots per game (5.0).
ALL-AMERICAN TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS
Junior/sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis is living up to his preseason accolades averaging 18.3 points (5th in B1G), 8.5 rebounds (3rd), shooting 60.1% from the floor (3rd) and contributing 2.7 blocked shots (1st).
He set a Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall record by scoring 43 points against Marshall, breaking the previous mark (42) set by Steve Alford against Michigan State.
He has had eight double-doubles this season and 30 in his career with IU posting a 23-7 record in those games. He notched four straight double-doubles for the first time in his career after he had 23 points and 12 boards at Nebraska.
Jackson-Davis now has scored 1,334 points as a Hoosier, rating 29th all-time in IU lore.
Despite being limited to 11 minutes due to foul trouble against No. 4/4 Purdue, he defended a game-winning shot attempt ad made two free throws with 5.1 seconds left to extend the IU lead. He had 17 points and nine boards at Maryland.
