
Hoosiers Win Pair of Games to Open Bluegrass Challenge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Indiana softball team improved to 11-4 and extended their winning streak to seven games with a walk off 6-5 win over Central Michigan and a 7-5 win over Ohio on Friday at Ulmer Stadium.
Game 1: Indiana: 6 Central Michigan: 5
Key Moments
• Central Michigan got on the board first with a home run in the top half of the first, but Lindsey Warick answered with a home run of her own to center in the second inning.
• A pair of doubles by Cora Bassett and Grayson Radcliffe put the Hoosiers up 2-1 and a blast from Brittany Ford to field center put the Hoosiers up 4-1 for a three run third inning.
• A three-run double in the sixth inning put Central Michigan up 5-4.
• In the seventh inning freshmen Kinsey Mitchell and Taylor Minnick singled for the Hoosiers. With two outs Cora Bassett drove in the tying run with a single through the right side.
• Grayson Radcliffe provided the game winning hit with a line drive to right field to end the game and give the Hoosiers the 6-5 win.

• The home run for Warick was her first of the season and first as a Hoosier.
• Ford hit her fourth home run of the season in the third inning.
• The Hoosiers scored three runs all with two outs in the third inning.
• Indiana scored the game tying and winning runs in the seventh inning with two outs.

Game 2: Indiana 7, Ohio 5
Key Moments
• In the first inning Cora Bassett singled and Grayson Radcliffe reached on a fielder's choice. Brittany Ford then singled and Radcliffe advanced to third. Tatum Hayes pinch ran for Ford and stole second. As Hayes was involved in a run-down Radcliffe scored to put Indiana up 1-0.
• With the bases loaded for Ohio in the fifth Desiree Dufek caught a ball in center and threw out Ohio runner at home to end the inning.
• The Hoosiers scored three runs in the sixth inning, but Ohio came back to score four runs in the seventh inning.
• The Hoosiers ended the game with a double play to secure the 7-5 win.

• Desiree Dufek threw out three runners from her position in right field for double plays.
• Cora Bassett extended her hitting streak to 11 games.
• Bassett went a combined 5-for-8 on the day and increased her season batting average to .478.
• Heather Johnson pitched five innings and recorded her second win of the day to improve to 3-1 on the season.
• Tatum Hayes stole her 12th base of the season and Grayson Radcliffe her ninth stolen base of the season.
• The Hoosiers now have 45 stolen bases on the season compared to six from their opponents.
• Indiana had a total of 20 hits in the two games combined today with 11 against Ohio and nine against Central Michigan.
