Game 1: Indiana: 7 Eastern Kentucky: 6
Key Moments
• Cora Bassett walked to lead off the game then stole second base. She advanced to third and scored on wild pitches to put the Hoosiers up 1-0 in the first.
• Macy Montgomery struck out the first two Eastern Kentucky batters. After a walk the Hoosiers picked off the runner at first to end the inning.
• In the bottom of the third EKU scored on a wild pitch. Brianna Copeland came in and got a strikeout to get the Hoosiers out of the inning.
• Sarah Stone hit a home run off the scoreboard to put the Hoosiers up 4-2.
• Brooke Benson hit an RBI double to score two and Cora Bassett drove in a run on a ground out to put the Hoosiers up 7-3.
• EKU hit a two-run home run in the fifth to get within two at 7-5.
• Heather Johnson came in to replace Copeland with a runner on first in the sixth and got a ground ball and turned it into a double play.
Notes
• The Hoosiers end the weekend 3-1 and are 12-5 overall for the season.
• The home run for Stone was her first collegiate home run for the Hoosiers.
• Brianna Copeland picked up the win and improved to 4-1 on the season.
• The win for the Hoosiers was their eighth straight victory.
• Indiana tallied 11 hits in the game.
• Copeland and Kinsey Mitchell each recorded two hits.
• Bassett and Mitchell had stolen bases for IU.
Game 2: Louisville 16, Indiana 5
Key Moments
• Grace Lorsung doubled to left center and scored Cora Bassett in the first inning. Lindsey Warick also recorded an RBI single to put the Hoosiers up 2-0.
• Grayson Radcliffe doubled in the second inning and scored Bassett to put the Hoosiers up 3-0.
• Freshman Sarah Stone drove in two runners with a single in the second to put Indiana up 5-0.
• Louisville scored three runs in the fourth, but Macy Montgomery came in and got a strikeout to end the inning.
• A Louisville grand slam in the fifth inning put the Cardinals up 10-5.
Notes
• Lindsey Warick had two hits for the Hoosiers.
• For the weekend Indiana scored 10 runs with two outs.
• Cora Bassett and Kinsey Mitchell stole bases for Indiana.
• Indiana had seven hits in the game.
• The Hoosiers took a 5-0 lead against Louisville.
