NCAA Announces Bids To Indoor Track & Field Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The NCAA unveiled the field for its 2022 Indoor Track & Field National Championships this past Tuesday night. Indiana Track & Field earned four individual bids along with one relay.
For the second straight season, Rikkoi Brathwaite will run in the first round of the 60m. He earned his spot in December when he clocked a time of 6.54 at the Hoosier Open. Brathwaite enters the meet with the fifth fastest time.
Toeing the line with the 12th best time, Ben Veatch will compete in the star studded 3000m. Veatch captured his national meet spot at the Windy City Invite on February 12 where he went 7:45.36.
Bailey Hertenstein makes her NCAA debut next week as she will compete in the mile. Hertesntein took down the program record on her way to a time of 4:35.22 at the Windy City Invite. She enters the meet seeded 16th.
Nathan Stone is gearing up to compete in his second indoor championships in the pole vault. Stone vaulted 5.43m (17' 9.75") at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational and has the 16th best clearance.
The men's distance medley relay rounds out the field of Hoosiers who will compete at NCAAs. Camden Marshall, Kenny Benton, Parker Raymond, and Ben Veatch set the school record at the Meyo Invitational on Feb. 19 with a time of 9:22.78. The quartet is the sixth seed headed into championship weekend.
The championship meet will take place in Birmingham, Ala. at the Birmingham Crossplex on March 11 and 12.
ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 11 a.m ET Friday, March 11 and starting at 11:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 12. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 9:30 p.m. ET Sunday, March 13 on ESPNU.
