Indiana Wrestling Finishes Competition at Big Ten Wrestling Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. ––– Indiana Wrestling had four wrestlers compete through Session III of the Big Ten Wrestling Championships, including Graduate student Brock Hudkins (133) who qualified for an automatic bid in the 2022 NCAA Wrestling Championships with a top ten finish this weekend.

KEY MOMENTS (THROUGH ALL SESSIONS)

With Hudkins' second win over No. 11 Kyle Burwick (WIS), he sealed his 13^th win of the season and secured a top ten finish in the 133-lb weight class at Big Tens, giving him an automatic berth in the 2022 NCAA Wrestling Championships.
Hudkins ended up finishing in 10^th place for the 133-lb class.
Sophomore Jacob Moran picked up two wins on the weekend, both over Nebraska's Jeremiah Reno.
Junior Cayden Rooks (141) pulled off a marquee upset over Nebraska's Chad Red, the No. 4 seed in the 141-lb class.

The Hoosiers' attention will now turn to the season's final chapter –– the NCAA Championships. The 2022 NCAA Wrestling Championships will take place on March 17-19 in Detroit, Mich.
Indiana will find out which Hoosier wrestlers will receive at-large bids to the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, March 9 when the NCAA Wrestling Selection Show takes place at 6 p.m. and all 330 competing wrestlers are revealed along with bracket placement.
Of the 330 total spots in the NCAA Championships, 266 of them are reserved for automatic qualifiers, leaving 64 available for at-large selections.
