Copeland Earns Big Ten Softball Freshman of the Week Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana softball pitcher/infielder Brianna Copeland has earned co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, the league announced Tuesday.
Copeland Went 2-0 in the circle for Indiana on the weekend in the Hoosier Classic with an era of 0.82 in 11 innings pitched.
Copeland made the start against Western Illinois and pitched six innings giving up one run and striking out five batters in a 3-1 victory.
Copeland came on in relief and pitched five innings giving up one run and striking out six batters in 9-4 win over Valparaiso on March 4.
Copeland Went 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBI and hit her first career home run in the Hoosiers 9-0 victory over Valparaiso on March 5.
This is the first career Big Ten Athlete of the Week honor for Copeland.
