Indiana Wrestling Sends Two Qualifiers to 2022 NCAA Wrestling Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind –––– Indiana Wrestling will have two Hoosier wrestlers participating in the 2022 NCAA Wrestling Championships from March 17-19 in Detroit, Mich.
Indiana's competing wrestlers include graduate student Brock Hudkins (133) and redshirt sophomore Donnell Washington (184).
The NCAA Wrestling Championships Selection Show unveiled the brackets and seeding for each weight class on Wednesday night. Hudkins received the No. 13 seed in the 133-lb. bracket and Washington was slotted at No. 26 for the 184-lb. bracket.
Hudkins earned his bid through automatic qualification in the Big Ten Wrestling Championships by finishing in the top ten at the 133-lb. weight class. Washington earned an at-large bid from the NCAA selection committee.
This will be Hudkins' third career appearance as an NCAA Qualifier and Washington's second.
In their first round matchups, Hudkins will open with No. 20 Chance Rich of Cal-State Bakersfield and Washington will face No. 7 Kaleb Romero of Ohio State.
Session I of the NCAA Championships will begin at noon on March 17 with Session II following later in the day at 7 p.m.
There will be a total of 330 wrestlers competing at the NCAA Championships, including 33 wrestlers at each of the 10 weight classes.
