MADISON, Wis. – The Indiana softball team fell 7-5 in game one, but came back to take a 7-4 win over Wisconsin on Friday at the Goodman Softball Complex.
Game 1: Wisconsin: 7, Indiana 5
Key Moments
• Cora Bassett singled to right field but advanced all the way home on a Wisconsin error for an inside the park home run.
• Taylor Minnick hit an RBI double to score two more for the Hoosiers and extend their lead to 3-0.
• Wisconsin scored one in the first and two in the third to even the game at 3-3.
• The Badgers went up 5-3 with a home run in the fifth inning.
• Brittany Ford doubled in the sixth and Juvia Davis came in to pinch run and scored on a run down to close the gap to one at 5-4.
• The Badgers added two runs in the sixth inning to go up 7-4.
• Brianna Copeland homered in the seventh to make it 7-5.
Notes
• The home run for Copeland was her eighth of the season.
• Freshman Taylor Minnick went 3-for-3 with three doubles. Minnick also stole a base.
• Indiana collected 10 hits for the game.

• Wisconsin's Kayla Konwent hit a leadoff home run and the Badgers scored two in the first.
• Brooke Benson homered to center field in the third inning to cut the gap to 2-1.
• Cora Bassett walked and was driven in by a Brianna Copeland double. Minnick scored Copeland with an RBI single and Sarah Stone came through with an RBI single to put the Hoosiers up 4-2.
• Taylor Minnick hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning to put the Hoosiers up 7-2.
• Macy Montgomery came in to pitch and got back-to-back strikeouts to end the sixth inning.
