Hoosiers Come up Short Against No. 22 Notre Dame

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana softball team battled back from a 4-3 deficit in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings, but fell 8-5 to No. 22 Notre Dame on Tuesday at Andy Mohr Field.
Key Moments
• Notre Dame got on the board first with two runs in the second inning.
• In the second inning the Hoosiers loaded the bases with one out. Brooke Benson was hit by a pitch and Cora Bassett single to drive in two runs to put the Hoosiers up 3-2.
• Notre Dame scored one in the sixth and one in the seventh to take a 4-3 lead.
• In the seventh inning Taylor Minnick singled and Brianna Copeland walked. Grayson Radcliffe singled to score Juvia Davis who came in to pinch run as the Hoosiers tied the game 4-4.
• The Hoosiers had runners on second and third with one out, but could not push across the winning run as the game moved to the eighth inning.
• Notre Dame scored four runs in the eighth to take an 8-5 lead.
• Aaliyah Andrew and Brooke Benson doubled in the eighth to bring the Hoosiers within three at 8-5.
