BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced their weekly track & field awards on Wednesday afternoon. Indiana Track & Field's Maddy Pollard was announced as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week after her efforts in the shot put and discus this past weekend.
At the Louisville Invitational, Pollard won the shot put and came in the fourth in the discus. She saw a season best of 17.17m (56' 4") in the shot and a mark of 48.36m (158' 8") in the discus.
Among the Big Ten, Pollard is second in the shot put and 10th in the discus.
In the NCAA East, Pollard's mark of 17.17m is sixth in East Qualifying Round and No. 14 in the NCAA so far this season. She has a better mark in the discus, 51.00m (167' 4"), which is 35th in the east
Pollard and the rest of the Indiana Track & Field program returns to action this weekend when they host the Indiana Invitational. The invitational is set for April 15 and 16.
